We Take IT for Charity wasn't planned as a business — it grew out of that conviction, within the bounds of the tax code, so more dollars could reach the charities and churches people care about.
We Take IT for Charity, Inc. was founded by Jeff Wallace and originally organized as a nonprofit corporation in Illinois in November 2020. In January 2022, WTI was dissolved in Illinois and reformed as a South Carolina nonprofit corporation — the same organization, same mission, now operating under South Carolina law. Its purpose: to facilitate gifts of non-cash capital assets — cryptocurrency, commodities like grain, real estate (residential and commercial, even troubled property), and oil and gas leases and working interests.
It only happened because an old trading buddy called to see if Jeff could help four charities take a Bitcoin gift from the owners of their trading firm. He helped them — and then his friend pushed him to open a charity to help other organizations receive cryptocurrency donations. We Take IT for Charity was born from that one conversation.
We don't advertise. Jeff doesn't try to chase these gifts down. He gets calls from his network asking if he can help someone do more with what God has given them. He never imagined he could use his skill set for the Kingdom in this way — it's a calling, not a job. We Take It for Charity exists to help our givers give away more dollars to the causes they care about, and in turn, it lets Jeff and his wife Kristy do the same.

Jeff's faith journey led him to look for ways to use his skills and experience for the Kingdom. It started when his friend and mentor, Gordon Murphy, asked him to go through the Masters Program built around Bob Buford's book Halftime — "going from success to significance." After finishing the three-year program, Murph pushed Jeff to put his skill set to work for the Kingdom, and introduced him to the National Christian Foundation–Chicago. What began as an opportunity to become a relationship manager became a reality — and seven years later, Jeff was made President of NCF's Chicago office.
It's an honor and a privilege to serve alongside the team in Chicago and across the country, helping maximize dollars for the Kingdom. We Take IT for Charity facilitates non-cash gifts and select impact-investment opportunities for givers in situations NCF can't directly serve — and well over 90% of the gifts we receive are converted to cash and sent on to the giver's Giving Fund at the National Christian Foundation.
